Feeding Qualostrum from Merrick's Inc. as part of a good colostrum management program can help achieve better growth rates, improved disease resistance and lower mortality rates.
Provides a source of vital nutrients to newborn calves that do not receive an adequate quantity or quality of colostrum. One dose contains 100 grams of globulin protein, energy and other essential nutrients to prevent "failure of passive transfer." Certified pure colostrum of the highest IgG base available is used ensuring that the bioactive proteins found in maternal colostrum remain intact. Supplies the essential nutrition and protection needed during the critical first hours of a calf's life. Provides additional natural antibodies from Big Calf technology which reduces the inflammatory response to improve utilization. Organic selenium is added due to the high percentage of calves that are born with borderline selenium deficiencies. No risk of disease transmission of Johne's, BLV, Bovine Virus Diarrhea or diseases caused by Mycoplasma. Buffered and pH adjusted to improve absorption and help control bacterial growth. Merrick's custom flavor is added to increase palatability. Contains a soluble carrier to improve solubility and mixability.
Contains min 40% crude protein, min 3% crude fat, max 0.15% crude fiber, dried milk, dried whey, Big Calf, lecithin, citric acid, selenium yeast, natural and artificial flavors.
Directions: Mix 1 packet in 2 quarts warm water. Solution will be thick; may be necessary to increase the volume and mix 1 dose (500 grams) into 1 gallon warm water. Administer entire 2 quarts (or 1 gallon) to newborn calf within 12 hours after birth. If calf will not consume entire contents on its own, administer remaining amount using an esophageal feeder. Repeat within 24 hours after birth.
