Description
Oral paste for dairy cattle at time of calving targets calcium deficiency, subclinical hypocalcemia and negative energy balance. Supports immune system, and provides parturition support with rapid and sustained calcium and vitamin D3 for calcium utilization. Features rapid (chloride), moderate (propionate), sustained (carbonate) absorption calcium sources. Contains full feeding of yeast culture to support rumen function and appetite. With magnesium for complicated fresh cow cation balance; niacin to aid liver function; 115 gm glucose precursors to help maintain blood glucose levels; and high vitamin levels, including B vitamins to support metabolic enzymes and appetite.
Research has shown over 50% of 2nd lactation and older cows suffer from subclinical milk fever (hypocalcemia) and over 40% of all cows suffer from ketosis at calving. Feed intake on calving day can drop 50% of normal. ParturX Paste features high calcium level combined with supplements for management of ketosis.
400 gm tube contains min 52 gm/max 62 gm calcium, min 2.7 gm magnesium and min 12,000 mg niacin.
Directions: For cows with a swallow reflex only. At calving, feed entire contents of tube slowly by mouth. Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Do not give to animals with lesions, cuts or abrasions in oral cavity as tissue irritation may result. Do not freeze or expose to temperatures greater than 110°F for prolonged periods.
