Description
Synthetic broad-spectrum antibiotic effective against gram-negative and some gram-positive bacterial pathogens of fish, including Aeromonas, Flexibacteria and vibrios. Useful for control of some common bacterial diseases in fish, including columnaris infections such as fin rot, saddleback disease and black patch necrosis. Also helps control fresh and saltwater furunculosis. Inhibits unique target enzymes needed for bacterial replication and DNA repair; may be effective against bacteria that are unresponsive to other antibiotics.
Directions: Pre-dissolve one 250 mg tablet in 1 gallon or one 500 mg tablet in 2 gallons of water prior to adding to a hospital tank. Immerse for 1 hour. Repeat every day for 5-7 days with daily water changes after each treatment.
