How to check for fleas 1. Use a metal comb to go through your pet's coat and touch the skin below. If you see black specks you might have found flea dirt. 2. Put a white paper towel under your pet while you rub your hands through its fur. If there are black specks on the towel you might have found flea dirt. |

How to check for ticks Look for ticks around the head, neck and paws - this is where ticks like to attach. If you find a tick remove it slowly with tweezers, place it in a jar or bottle and take it to your vet to determine the species. |
