“840” or Official AIN (Animal Identification Number) Tags comply with the requirements of the Animal Disease Traceability (ADT) program as both a visual identifier and a supplemental identification device (using ISO-compliant electronic ID). 840 designates USA-origin livestock. The ADT is a voluntary, State-industry program, providing a standardization information system for State animal-health authorities to use in responding to animal-disease events in the United States.
Before purchasing 840 Tags, producers must first register their premises & obtain a premises identification number (PIN) from their state animal health authority. A database record of specific 840 Tags distributed to each premise is maintained, so producers should not share or make their 840 Tags available to other producers. The 840 Tags may be applied at the producer's convenience and at the time most suitable for the operation, but before the animal leaves their premise. Complete with Male Studs. Apply with Allflex Universal Total Tagger and Blunt Pin.
