Allows calf to nurse naturally. Its controlled feeding rate ensures needed saliva production while feeding. Saliva contains enzymes essential for proper digestion of milk & balances the pH, which ensures correct curd formation in the abomasum, thereby preventing raw milk from entering the intestine (a leading cause of milk scours). The correct suckling action at the correct height will also keep milk from entering the lungs, helping to prevent pneumonia. Calves will be more settled and will not cross suck after feeding.
